Block Towers
We’re working on counting while building block towers to match the number on each page.
Goldfish Bowl Shapes
Hunt down the matching shapes in each fishbowl and cover them with toy fish or goldfish crackers for a fun snacktivity.
Ice Cream Color Sort
Use tongs to work grip strength and fine motor skills while sorting colors in this fun binder activity.
Summer Pattern Blocks
Build the pictures using pattern blocks. Then count and record how many of each you find.
Sun Rays Counting
Build the center of your sun out of playdough for a fun sensory activity. Then use sticks or pipe cleaners to count and build your sun.
Alphabet Sunshine
Use playdough to form the letters. Then find and cover the matching letters.
Theater Popcorn Counting
Count using popcorn while pretending to be at the theater.
Shell Sort by Size
Sort shells, buttons, or pom poms by size with this fun sorting sheet.
August Activities
Pattern Block Alphabet
Build the alphabet letters using pattern blocks. Kids will get to practice following visual instructions, problem-solving, and work on their alphabet at the same time. Then complete the letter find at the bottom using snap cubes, toys, cereal snacks, or whatever is easy and fun that day.
Build it Numbers
Build and Show the number with this fun math activity. Use Dulpo legos or other blocks to form the number. Then show the number using blocks or some other toy or manipulative in the box below.
Count and Fill Tubes
Work on grip strength, fine motor, color sorting, and counting with this fun activity. We used craft tubes and set them on the number circles.
Give the kids a pair of tongs and a tub of pom poms and let them count, sort, and fill the tubes.
Paint Can Colors
Sort colors with this fun paint themed page. We used pom poms but you could also use buttons or colored cereal snacks.
Watermelon Alphabet Find
Hunt for matching alphabet letters in this fun summer-themed activity. Use actual watermelon seeds, pumpkin seeds, black pom poms, or buttons to cover the matching letters. The smaller the manipulative, the harder it is for little hands to pinch, pick up, and drop.
Race Track Shapes
Add cars to your learning for some INSTANT fun. Take several laps around your shape track with a car before tracing it with a dry erase marker.
For kids who are ready, have them trace the shape word as well.
Color Match Rainbows
Combine colors, engineering, and fine motor fun with this awesome Random Rainbows activity. Kids roll out playdough balls and place them on the color circles. Then they link the two matching color circles with a pom pom to make random, fun color arch patterns.
Roll, Count & Cover Sunflowers
Choose your level for this math activity. Use one dice as shown or choose the higher number, 2-dice option. Kids can roll a dice, count the dots, and then cover the matching number to work on multiple early math skills like counting, subitizing, and/or one-to-one correspondence.
September Activities
Apple Stack Counting
Load up your cart with apples. Make them out of sensory playdough or use snap cubes, mini erasers, or pom poms.
Apple Tree Colors
Sort colors and cover the matching apples. Use tongs for some grip strength practice.
Leaf Letters Alphabet Hunt
Cover the matching letters with leaves. Use some from your nature walk or we love these acrylic ones.
Nature Sorting by Size
Collect items from nature on a nature walk. Sort them by size.
Emotion Playdough Mats
Talk about emotions and build facial expressions to match using playdough.
Shape Trace & Build
Use circle cereal, straw pieces, buttons, or pom poms to form the shapes. Then practice tracing the shapes at the bottom.
Apple Tree STEM
Use a toilet paper roll and green craft sticks to build a tree. Then count the correct number of “apples” onto the tree. We used pom poms for our apples.
Marshmallow Build Letters
Build letters using sticks and mini marshmallows. You can sort toy or foam letters onto the page as well.
